Chilli will help burn fat

Post by hSingh on Fri Mar 19, 2010 4:51 pm

Animal and some human studies have indicated that the consumption of chili-containing meals increases energy expenditure and fat utilization. A new study has shown that chili lowers the insulin response to meals.

The objective was to investigate the metabolic effects of a chili-containing meal after the consumption of a bland diet and a chili-containing diet (30 grams/day) for four weeks. The results of this crossover study that involved healthy humans showed that a diet rich in chili results in lower blood insulin responses to meals.

Lower insulin response to meals is thought to promote fewer calories stored as fat and better fat metabolism during the day.

Therefore, adding 20 to 30 grams of fresh chili to a calorie-controlled diet each day should enhance fat loss. This is a simple strategy that bodybuilders can incorporate into their pre-contest diets. It will make meals tastier and promote more effective fat loss.
